SANG at Cross Farm Approved

Today Hart District Council Development Committee considered an application for the conversion of farm land at Cross Farm, Crookham Village into SANG with BNG.. 

FACE IT represented the community at the meeting and despite us taking an 'opposing' view in order to get some points across, the decision was positive insofar as the designation as SANG protects that land from development for 80 years.

However the design is poor and many aspects of the design have been made without or against local knowledge and the almost 100 consultation responses provided by many of the community and FACE IT attempting to provide input have largely been ignored. 

A car park is unfortunately a requirement for designation as a SANG and the only viable location on Crondall Road is ridiculous (for many reasons) but unfortunately in planning terms it is deemed ok by the Highway authority which is Hampshire not Hart or Crookham Village. 

It is notable that the application clearly isn’t ready yet as can be seen from the many conditions attached to the approval, including some minor amendments to the scheme, and the applicants now have six months to resolve the many outstanding and major issues.
